The bitter taste of tea

This documentary tells the story of how poor workers in countries like Kenya, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and India are picking tea for multinational companies being exploited. Fair Trade promises better conditions for workers on their plantations. But does it happen in real life?

The documentary is being codirected bu the Danish filmmaker Tom Heinemann and the Norwegian filmmaker, Erlling Borgen. It has been aired in 14 countries and won numerous awards. Among those: The Al jazeera award, the FAO award.
